Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists seeks a hands-on Datacenter Technician to support critical IT infrastructure in our data center environment. You will handle hardware deployment, rack-and-stack, network validation, and break/fix activities to maximize uptime.

Responsibilities cover imaging and provisioning laptops, Windows 11 and Linux support, basic networking, asset management, and adherence to SOPs. You must thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hands-on IT, infrastructure, desktop support, or data center experience.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and operating systems.
• Knowledge of Windows 11 and Linux operating systems.
• Laptop imaging and deployment experience.
• Basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Hardware diagnostics and repair skills.
• Experience using a ticketing or incident management system.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment in a data center.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, stack, cable, and decommission servers, network devices, and storage equipment.
• Perform hardware break/fix activities including replacement of disks, memory, power supplies, NICs, and other components.
• Execute SOPs, maintenance activities, and approved change management requests.
• Respond to high-priority incidents and operational events impacting data center infrastructure.
• Image, configure, and deploy laptops and support equipment used within the data center.
• Support Windows 11 and Linux operating systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, and application-related issues.
• Provide printer and peripheral support for onsite teams.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting and connectivity validation.
• Install and manage copper and fiber network cabling; trace cable paths and verify port connectivity.
• Maintain accurate IT asset tracking and support receiving, staging, deployment, and decommissioning.
• Work in ticket queues, meet SLAs, and participate in on-call rotations.
