Managed.com is a remote-first, AI-first company with a Buffalo, NY data center seeking a Data Center Technician. You will be hands-on with server hardware, install and configure operating systems, and ensure infrastructure runs smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, on-site role focuses on racking, cabling, hardware maintenance, and collaboration with internal teams to meet hardware and system needs. A strong troubleshooting background is essential.

Formación

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with computer hardware, including server builds and installations.
• Confident installing and configuring Windows Server and Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian).
• Familiar with data center workflows such as racking equipment and cabling.
• Comfortable working with SuperMicro hardware and related components.

Responsabilidades

• Set up, configure, and deploy physical server hardware according to customer specifications.
• Install and manage Windows Server, Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian.
• Complete technical service requests in person or via ticketing system with a focus on speed and accuracy.
• Maintain system inventory and configuration records for accountability.
• Perform infrastructure tasks such as cable routing, component replacement, and diagnostic testing.
• Keep the data center organized and within safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support hardware and system needs.
• Support other tasks or projects as assigned to meet team goals.

Position Summary:

At managed.com, we're a remote-first, global team. We're also AI-first, so finding practical ways to use AI is part of every role here. As a Data Center Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our data center. You’ll be hands‑on with server hardware, perform system installations and configurations, and ensure that all infrastructure is running smoothly and efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced technical environment and takes pride in building and maintaining high‑performance systems.

This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in our data center in Buffalo, NY.

Working Schedule:

Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

What you’ll do:

• Set up, configure, and deploy physical server hardware according to customer specifications
• Install and manage a variety of operating systems, including Windows Server, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian
• Complete technical service requests in person or via ticketing system with a focus on speed, accuracy, and documentation
• Maintain system inventory and configuration records for accountability and future reference
• Perform infrastructure tasks such as cable routing, component replacement, and diagnostic testing
• Keep the data center organized, clean, and operating within established safety and procedural guidelines
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support ongoing hardware and system needs
• Support other tasks or projects as assigned to meet team and business needs

About you:

• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with computer hardware, including server builds and installations
• Confident installing and configuring various operating systems (Windows Server, Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, etc.)
• Familiar with data center workflows such as racking equipment and managing cabling
• Comfortable working with SuperMicro hardware and related components
• Strong troubleshooting skills—both onsite and remote
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational habits
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
