Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team is responsible for the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind its search technology. As an Operations Technician, you’ll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware servers and components, and oversee networking components like routers and switches.

You’ll participate in small projects and build contingency plans. We empower Google customers with AI and infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT hardware.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks.
Willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure.
Maintain the security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
Disassemble end-of-life equipment via part replacement in a team setting.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure.
