Role Overview
Join our dynamic AWS team as a Data Center Technician and play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of the world's most innovative technology platform. You will support AWS data centers, ensuring continuous access to the services that power millions of businesses and services worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents that affect service availability, and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to overall AWS service availability.
- Serve as primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change‑management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
Shift & Work Environment
This is a night shift/overnight role that requires working approximately 6pm‑8am. Work schedule may not be a standard 40‑hour week, and specific days and hours may vary depending on site and schedule needs. Work shifts may be longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Essential Requirements
- Ability to travel to or commute between data‑center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.

- Lump sum relocation stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
- Industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
- Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
- Experience training and onboarding new team members.
