Job summary

Five9 is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to support our data center infrastructure in Santa Clara, CA. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, storage, and network equipment, while ensuring uptime and security in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires on-site presence for local candidates with hybrid flexibility for others, and involves on-call duties, change windows, and collaboration with Data Center Engineering to execute capacity plans and

Qualifications

2–4 years of hands-on experience with data center technologies including compute, network, storage, cabling, racks, PDUs
Experience with virtualization technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware
Linux/Unix system administration, networking, and SAN connectivity skills desired
Experience with vendors (RMA processes, support interactions)

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage arrays, and network equipment.
Oversee rack and cable management and physical layout of the data center.
Monitor power and cooling to ensure optimal environmental conditions.
Troubleshoot hardware and software, perform maintenance, patches, and upgrades.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and assets.
Collaborate with IT teams to support new applications and services.
On-call support and coordination for remote data centers as needed.
Follow change management processes and participate in off-hours windows.
