Job summary

LightEdge Solutions is seeking a Data Center Technician to monitor and manage building systems, power, HVAC, and security at LightEdge facilities in Papillion, NE. The role requires installing servers, cabling, and supporting client service installations, with on-call rotation for non-business hours.

Candidates should have a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and good knowledge of electrical and cooling systems.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent technical experience in a technical environment or military MOS.
• Experience with data center maintenance activities.
• Familiarity with telco central office equipment/transport systems.
• Strong Windows/Microsoft Office skills and IT hardware knowledge.
• Understanding of electricity and electrical literature is essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with data center equipment.
• Install servers and networking equipment into racks with cabling.
• Facilitate new client service installations with project managers.
• Receive and document incoming shipments.
• Respond to and resolve alarm events affecting infrastructure and services.
• Follow Change Control processes; review MOPs for Change activities.
• Assist in design layout, installation, and documentation of new racks and cages.
• On-call rotation to support non-business hours and oversee maintenance and break/fix activities.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of LightEdge infrastructure and building systems.
• Work with clients to resolve cabinet/cage infrastructure issues and power utilization.
• Ensure uptime and efficiency of 24x7 facilities and operations.
• Share knowledge for team growth and cross-training.
• Other duties as assigned.
