Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team at the McCarran, NV data center. This role focuses on hardware remediation, server configuration, and ticket-driven issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with remote console technologies, multiple vendors, and ticketing systems. Must be able to work evenings or weekends and be on-site at the data center location.

Qualifications

• Experience with remote console / server management technologies (BMC/iLo/iDrac).
• Ability to communicate with customers, technicians and vendors.
• Ability to prioritize a large number of tickets and work independently to resolve.
• Experience with hardware from multiple vendors.
• Experience with ticketing systems (Remedy, ServiceNow).
• Work experience in a large data center.
• Knowledge of RAID controller configuration a plus.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Must be punctual, reliable, organized and able to multitask.
• Proficiency with MS Office and web browsers.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical hardware remediation (Break/Fix).
• Provide hardware upgrade support.
• Confirm hardware issues are fixed after on-site fixes.
• Configure server remote management interfaces (iLo/BMC/Drac).
• Work on tickets based on priority to resolve server issues.
• Evenings, weekends, or on-call after hours may be required.

BGIS is looking for a Data Center Technician to join the team in McCarran, NV.

Purpose Statement:

The Data Center Hardware Remediation Technician is responsible for basic hardware troubleshooting of server hardware and configuration. This role will work out of a ticket queue and resolve server issues by priority. Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform physical hardware remediation (Break/Fix)
• Provide hardware upgrade support.
• Confirm hardware issues are fixed after on-site fixes are completed.
• Perform onsite configuration of server remote management interface (iLo/BMC/Drac) as required.
• Work out of a ticket queue where you’ll be working tickets based on priority to resolve logical and physical server issues.
• Responsibilities may require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice (minimal)
• May be required for on-call after hours.
• Effectively utilizes the ticket management system.
• This is not a remote support position but requires reporting to a data center location.

Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with remote console / server management technologies – BMC/iLo/iDrac/Cyclades/etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, technicians and vendors.
• Ability to prioritize a large number of tickets and work independently in order to bring them to a resolution.
• Experience working with hardware from multiple vendors.
• Experience working within a ticketing system: Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.
• Work experience in a large data center
• Knowledge of RAID controller and configuration a plus
• High level of written and oral fluency in English
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, conditions, and circumstances.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Must have good organization, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Proficiency working with standard PC tools and applications such as MS Office, MS Outlook, web browsers, etc.

The applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location.

The hourly range for this non-exempt position in the US is $31.00-$33.00.

A candidate’s salary offer is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, certifications, licenses, and location.
