Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Technical Operations Trainer to design, manage, and deliver comprehensive training for regional data center facilities. You will blend hands-on instruction with program management to keep teams competent, safe, and compliant in operations, maintenance, safety, and admin processes.

You will lead onboarding and technical skills training while improving curricula, content, and learning resources. Travel up to 25% will support regional activities.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in Technology Operations or a related technical environment.
• One year of delivering training, coaching, onboarding, or knowledge transfer.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, collaboration tools, and business systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting learners and schedules.
• Experience supporting onboarding or employee development programs.
• Experience in data center operations or other critical environments is preferred.
• Experience with LMS, Workday Learning, or Articulate is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Professional certifications related to training or IT operations are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training for onboarding and operational readiness.
• Provide coaching and feedback to learners throughout programs.
• Support onboarding through classroom instruction, discussions, and job-shadowing.
• Create engaging learning environments that promote participation and retention.
• Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, and learning plans with SMEs.
• Translate technical concepts into learner-friendly content for varied knowledge levels.
• Maintain learning content in LMS and collaboration platforms.
• Identify learning gaps and recommend additional training resources.
• Work with leaders to align training with procedures and business needs.
• Track training records, attendance, completion, and certifications.
