Job summary

CORE Group in Memphis, TN seeks a Data Center Superintendent to lead on-site field execution of complex data center construction. You will coordinate multiple trades, ensure safety and schedule adherence, and work with engineers, project managers, and contractors to deliver world-class facilities.

The role requires 5+ years in construction with 2+ years coordinating multi-trade sites, strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems, and OSHA NFPA familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in construction with 2 years leading multi-trade coordination on-site.
• Experience supervising data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale MEP projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, local permitting and inspection processes.
• On-site Memphis, TN work with ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs, submittals, work orders, and purchase orders.

Data Center Superintendent

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of data center construction projects. Based in Memphis, TN, this role offers the opportunity to oversee the coordination of multiple trades and ensure the delivery of world-class data center facilities that support cutting-edge technology. The ideal candidate will drive project success from start to finish, working closely with design engineers, project managers, contractors, and internal teams to meet rigorous standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate data center construction activities to ensure general contractors, vendors, and trade partners meet company standards while delivering quality work, materials, and services.
• Plan and direct construction phases, including site/civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and low-voltage systems, leading coordination meetings across trades.
• Maintain accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, schedules, and cost/quantity reports related to construction activities.
• Enforce contract expectations, communicate discrepancies, and approve work performed by contractors.
• Inspect and verify work quality, safety compliance, and schedule adherence, authorizing payments after thorough inspections.
• Maintain a safe work environment by implementing safety protocols, enforcing OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant regulations, including lockout/tagout and energized work controls.
• Oversee inspections with authorities, utility providers, and commissioning agents, ensuring all checklists and inspections are completed and passed.
• Support commissioning and turnover processes, including testing, punch-list resolution, as-builts, and warranty work.
• Develop and foster relationships with contractors, inspectors, and local officials to facilitate project progress.
• Manage field RFIs, submittals, work orders, and purchase orders to support project timelines and resource needs.
• Support site logistics, cleanliness, and material staging on a high-density construction campus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years leading multi-trade coordination on-site.
• Proven experience supervising data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale MEP construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, mechanical cooling systems, structural steel, fire protection, plumbing, and low-voltage trades.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and construction principles.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, and local permitting and inspection processes.
• OSHA 30 certification and familiarity with NFPA 70E.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, and construction management software such as Procore.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
• Must be on-site in Memphis, TN, and available for extended hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and lift moderately heavy materials.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally.
