Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking a Data Center Structural Engineer to join its AMER Design Engineering team in Herndon, Virginia. The role focuses on designing resilient, cost-effective data center facilities and ensuring uptime for AWS-wide infrastructure.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and designers, review consultant drawings, and provide technical guidance on prototypical DC facilities. A PE license and deep data center experience are required.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer License is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects.
• 5+ years with design of Data Center, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial or Residential Tower facilities.
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standard including IBC and ASCE.

Responsibilities

• Review milestone drawings by consultants and ensure design integrity.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and resolve large-scale implementation issues.
• Design and optimize structural systems for prototypical data center facilities.
