Job summary

SPX Technologies seeks an Application Engineer II to bridge customers and internal teams, providing technical support, product guidance, and training. The role collaborates with sales, project management, manufacturing, and product engineering to develop solutions and ensure successful project delivery.

Preferred candidates have a mechanical/chemical engineering degree and 2+ years of experience, with strong HVAC knowledge and proficiency in SAP. Travel is less than 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to sales reps, account managers, contractors, engineers, end-users and internal teams.
• Assist with factory & R&D tours for internal teams and external customers as required.
• Advise field sales on technical details to obtain solutions for specific applications.
• Deliver technical training and presentations to internal teams and external customers.
• Determine accurate information and calculations for each sales order.
• Develop strategies based on project variables to maximize win probability.
• Collaborate with sales staff to evaluate project requirements and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering (Ratings, Components, Controls) as needed.
• Analyze RFQ drawings to provide scope, site-specific needs, and compliance.
• Support proposal development with wind/seismic, sound, controls, and pricing.
• Prepare submittal documents for timely client delivery.
• Coordinate order info with project manager for smooth handoff.
• Assist with pricing change orders; represent SPX at trade shows.
• Serve as liaison between customers and internal departments.
