Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and material/manpower procurement. The role supervises direct labor and contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Project Manager, procuring tools and materials, and maintaining communication with crews, subs, and clients. Requires 5+ years in Data Center construction and a valid license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction and at least 5 years of Data Center construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately; understands subcontractors' scopes and tolerances.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.
• Good administrative, planning and management skills.
• Proficient with office equipment and software; CMiC knowledge preferred.
• Project experience with hospitals/medical facilities (>$10 million).

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase based on specs, tools, and schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to determine schedule and use look-ahead planning.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization activities.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Ensure all parties are informed of construction issues and progress; meet with crews, subs, and clients.
• Resolve issues with supervisors and labor representatives; improve methods.
• Inspect ongoing work for conformance to specs and schedules.
• Manage project progress, materials, costs, and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Move personnel between projects to optimize labor costs; manage crew mixes.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan and ensure safety/quality standards.
• Ensure alignment with company policies, safety and housekeeping requirements.
