Job summary

Meta seeks a seasoned Data Center Site Selection Manager to own the location strategy for its data center portfolio. You will lead feasibility, negotiate with providers, utilities, and governments, and coordinate across legal, finance, energy, and engineering teams to deliver hyperscale projects.

You will present location recommendations to management, build portfolio metrics, and manage external vendors while traveling up to 50% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of site selection and data center or related capital projects experience.
• Experience leading real estate negotiations and contract formations/negotiations.
• Experience representing business interests to governments, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Experience managing large real estate development projects with internal and external teams.
• Ability to communicate commercial, market, and contractual details clearly to all levels.
• Experience with detailed financial models and due diligence for data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop Meta’s owned data center location strategy and manage site selection for real estate partnerships and incentives.
• Lead feasibility discussions and contract negotiations with providers, owners, agenc ies, and utilities.
• Negotiate LOIs, land/building purchases, incentives, water/sewer, and power-related agreements.
• Coordinate with capacity planning, energy, design, construction, legal, policy, and finance teams.
• Prepare location recommendations and present them to management for approval.
• Develop portfolio metrics and tracking mechanisms.
• Maintain relationships with communities and service providers to support expansions and new agreements.
• Manage external vendors to facilitate site development work.
• Travel domestically 25-50%.
