Job summary

Salute is seeking a Data Center Shift Technician in Elk Grove Village, IL to oversee daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of critical facility systems, including power, cooling, and security. You will monitor alarms, perform troubleshooting, and maintain documentation while supporting the local site team.

The role reports to the Chief Engineer and requires strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data center experience or equivalent facilities operations.
• Knowledge of critical infrastructure components (MV switchboards, transformers, UPS, PDUs).
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with local and regional teams.
• Commitment to excellence and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain UPS, HVAC, generators, and security systems.
• Identify and resolve hardware or software issues in the data center.
• Monitor data center performance and environmental factors.
• Keep technical documentation up-to-date and accessible.
• Monitor ticket queues and meet SLA targets.
• Supervise vendors and contractors on site to ensure security and standards.
• Evaluate operations for efficiency improvements.
