Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Safety Manager for Data Centers in Boardman, OR. You will oversee site safety programs, coordinate with project leadership, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety rules on a project or multiple sites within the region.

The role requires 3–5 years in construction safety, a relevant degree (preferred), and willingness to obtain CHST within two years. Expect collaboration with field teams and proactive risk management across the site.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in Construction Health and Safety with knowledge of federal and state regulations and local building codes.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required
• OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer certification is required
• Willingness to achieve CHST designation within two years
• Demonstrated expertise with construction safety technologies and practices
• Willingness to provide best in class customer service

Responsibilities

• Conducts regular site inspections and records safe and unsafe conditions using site tools.
• Manages project safety binder and document storage systems.
• Coordinates subcontractor Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings.
• Advises field operations on OSHA, NFPA and JCAHO standards.
• Reviews Subcontractors Site Specific Safety Programs and JHA prior to mobilization.
• Monitors Tool Box Talks conducted by subcontractors for documentation quality.
• Conducts accident investigations and documents reports.
• Coordinates with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends and risk planning.
• Ensures subcontractor training aligns with scope of work.
• Delivers OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER and other safety trainings.
