Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Boardman, Oregon seeks a Regional Safety Engineer to own the Health and Safety function for the area.

You will work with data center engineers to improve safety culture, implement standards, and protect employees in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will partner with security, construction, operations, and compliance teams to identify risks, perform audits, develop emergency plans, and ensure global safety programs meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience handling confidential information.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of compliance program management, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience; or 8 years of experience in the same areas.
• Professional safety qualification, or similar risk/compliance credential(s).
• Experience with GenAI and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, and applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites for compliance with health and safety and life safety requirements.
• Ensure implementation of global health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
• Develop health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity, and other events.
• Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity.
• Perform data trend analysis to support leadership with safety initiatives.
