Job summary

Iron Systems, Inc is seeking a Site EH&S Specialist for an on-site, field-based role at a data center environment. You will act as the safety representative for low-voltage crews, drive pre-task planning, hazard control, and incident response while coordinating with client site contacts and internal leadership.

The role requires ongoing field presence, stop-work authority, and ensuring audit-ready EH&S documentation. Strong communication and credentialing are essential."

Qualifications

• 3+ years of EH&S experience in construction, industrial, data center, telecom, low-voltage, or mission-critical environments.
• Field-based safety experience including inspections and incident response.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Knowledge of electrical safe work practices, LOTO, fall protection, confined space, hot work, PPE, hazard communication.
• Experience supporting or operating a permit-to-work process for high-risk activities.
• First Aid/ CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to enforce safety stop/slow down under production pressure when required.
• Ability to pass client background screening and maintain site access credentials.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the named on-site EH&S representative for low-voltage / structured cabling crews at the data center site.
• Lead or verify daily pre-task briefings, job hazard analyses, and safety planning before work begins.
• Identify and control hazards related to energized environments, overhead work, elevated work, dropped objects, and confined or restricted spaces.
• Own the permit-to-work interface with company and client permits and authorization requirements.
• Verify competency, precautions, equipment condition, and controls before high-risk work begins.
• Maintain regular field presence and conduct inspections, coaching, and hazard reporting.
• Stop work immediately where there is imminent or serious risk to life, health, or the environment.
• Remove workers from the work area for training or credential lapses and safety violations.
• Deliver toolbox talks, tailgate meetings, safety communications, and retraining.
• Act as first responder and scene controller for incidents and near misses.
• Initiate incident notification and escalation within required timeframes.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
