Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to lead delivery of complex data center projects for clients nationwide in the United States. The role emphasizes scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across all phases of infrastructure delivery.

The ideal candidate has design-build/EPC experience for data centers, with strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills. This full-time role offers hybrid work options and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
7+ years of related experience managing design and/or construction projects, including experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
PMP (PMI) certification is required within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list.

Responsibilities

Manage delivery of data center projects and/or programs, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day execution with major clients in the U.S.
Lead and manage cross-functional teams to develop and execute project scope, schedule, and budget, including planning, staffing, cost control, and change management.
Manage projects from concept through detailed design, procurement, construction administration, commissioning, and closeout for mission-critical facilities.
Lead internal and external coordination across engineering disciplines, constructors, vendors, and client stakeholders to support on-time and on-budget delivery.
Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, earned value where applicable, and escalation of risks and opportunities.
Mentor and lead multi-disciplinary project teams, promoting collaboration, accountability, and consistent project execution.
Perform and lead technical problem solving with engineering teams; coordinate with practitioners and specialists to resolve complex issues related to BMS and EPMS systems.
Implement project controls, quality management, and H&S requirements; provide guidance and review at the project level.
Support client satisfaction and repeat work by proactively communicating status and ensuring deliverables meet contract requirements.
Demonstrate ability to lead client-facing delivery teams; communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders; manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
