Job summary

Sundt Construction in Texas seeks a Project Manager to lead assigned projects in a safe, profitable, and timely manner, aligning with quality and integrity standards. You will participate in marketing, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiations as needed.

The role supports a two-step progression (I, II): Step I handles less complex projects under $20 million with 3–5 years of experience; Step II handles mid-size projects from $20–50 million with 5–10 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in preconstruction and managing construction projects.
• Four year construction related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Champions the orderly, timely transition of projects from the estimating phase to the field, including project review meetings.
• Completes close-out requirements and punch lists in a timely manner and manages warranty callbacks.
• Coordinates the means and methods for successful and profitable execution of the work, reviewing manpower, equipment and materials resources.
• Establishes the project charter and a comprehensive PMP and related plans to ensure successful execution, including change management.
• Has overall responsibility for project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Manages all billings and payment processes to maintain positive cash flow and prompt payments.
• Develops CPM schedule and coordinates with procurement schedules, and supports Lean scheduling activities.
• Participates in estimates with attention to cost control, equipment, constructability and materials.
• Participates in business development including client contacts, proposals, presentations, and negotiations.
• Prevents and mitigates claims and documents cost projections in Monthly Progress Reports.
• Manages purchase orders and subcontracts with respect to insurance certificates and liens.
• Understands prime contract terms, budgeting and cost control to complete projects within budget.
• Reviews and negotiates change orders and budget adjustments.
