Job summary

GS2 | B Corp™ is partnering with a fast-growing Data Center Developer to recruit a Project Engineer to sit on-site in Austin, TX. You’ll act as the primary eyes and ears on OFCI gear, audit GC execution, and bridge heavy civil/MEP construction with L1–L5 commissioning.

Responsibilities include field QA/QC, expediting RFIs/submittals, managing long-lead equipment, and supporting bi-weekly schedule reviews, pay applications, and turnover to operations within a tight, mission-critical build

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in Project Engineering or Field Coordination.
• At least 1+ years in mission-critical infra (data centers, power, semiconductor).
• Experience with field QA/QC and site observations.
• Proficiency with Procore/ACC, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, and P6 scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Drive daily site observations and QA/QC against design specs.
• Expedite RFIs and submittals between GC, MEPs, and EOR.
• Manage field punch lists and NCRs.

Job description

Are you a Project Engineer or Field Engineer running mission-critical builds for a General Contractor or MEP Sub, but feeling stuck in submittal logs and paperwork?

I have exclusively partnered with one of the fastest-growing, privately-backed Data Center Developers in the US. Aggressively scaling and unbothered by market slowdowns, they are actively delivering an ~85 MW regional pipeline across Central Texas, centered around active hyperscale campuses breaking ground in Austin right now.

We are looking for a sharp, driven Project Engineer to sit on-site as the Developer’s primary eyes and ears managing OFCI gear, auditing GC execution, and bridging the gap between heavy civil/MEP construction and L1–L5 commissioning.

• Location: Austin, TX (100% Onsite Field Leadership)
• Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000 Base + 30% Bonus + Full Package

WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY BE DOING

• Field Execution & QA/QC: Drive daily site observations, audit installation quality against design specs, run weekly HRA safety walk-throughs, and manage field punch lists/NCRs.
• Technical Workflows: Expedite critical RFIs and submittals between the GC, MEP consultants, and Engineer of Record (EOR) to maintain jobsite momentum.
• OFCI Equipment Lifecycles: Direct receiving inspections, rigging logistics, and formal GC handoffs for multi-million dollar long-lead gear (MV switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, CRAHs).
• Commercial & Schedule Controls: Audit bi-weekly Primavera P6 logic, validate monthly GC pay applications against actual physical field progress, and review potential change orders (PCOs).
• Commissioning & Turnover: Support L1–L5 commissioning workflows (from Factory Acceptance Testing through Integrated Systems Testing), coordinate AHJ inspections, and drive turnover to operations.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience: 1–3 years in Project Engineering or Field Coordination, with at least 1+ years dedicated directly to mission-critical infrastructure (data centers, power generation, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing).
• Technical Foundations: Practical familiarity with medium/low-voltage distribution, UPS topologies, CRAHs, and chilled-water loop systems.
• Software: Strong proficiency with Procore/ACC, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, and reviewing P6 schedule logic networks.
