Job summary

Convergint, a leading global service-based systems integrator, seeks a full-time Project Designer in Norfolk to design, engineer and document installed security and life-safety solutions with moderate complexity. You will collaborate with colleagues, vendors and AHJs to ensure scope and code compliance while delivering on time and within budget.

Requirements include 1+ years drafting experience, CAD skills (AutoCAD/FireCAD) and a college degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Education and experience aligned with college level designs.
• 1+ years drafting or designing security and/or fire alarm systems.
• Experience with CAD/AutoCAD/FireCAD or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and document installed solutions with moderate complexity.
• Proactively communicate with colleagues, vendors and AHJ.
• Identify cost effective solutions within the project schedule.
• Reviews scope, defined product specification, application and electrical requirements for code compliance and AHJ requirements.
• Work assignments are varied, and of moderate scope and complexity.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Required Experience

• 1+ years drafting or designing security and/or fire alarm systems for enterprise-level customers
• 1+ years' experience utilizing CAD, AutoCAD, FireCAD or other similar design software's

The anticipated compensation of this position is $57,000 - $75,000 annual salary.
