Job summary

Cedar Investment Group in Arlington, VA seeks an experienced Project Accountant to manage day‑to‑day project accounting, budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting for its data center portfolio. You will collaborate with Development, Construction, Procurement, and Accounting to ensure accurate, timely financial information and strong internal controls.

Responsibilities include setup and cost coding, tracking commitments, preparing variance analyses, and supporting month‑end close.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably project/construction/real estate.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and project-based accounting principles.
Experience with project cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Ability to analyze project financial information and resolve routine issues.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting for assigned development projects, including setup, cost coding, commitments, invoices, accruals, and cost tracking.
Monitor budgets vs. actuals, prepare recurring project financial reports and variance analyses.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for project leadership and investors.
Review invoices for accuracy and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls; support audits and documentation.
