Job summary

Cedar Investment Group is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to manage daily accounting for its development projects in the Arlington, VA area. You will handle project setup, cost coding, invoicing, accruals, and cost tracking while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

The role requires 3+ years of project-based accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to analyze variances and coordinate with multiple teams to keep financial data accurate and timely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in project/real estate development.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for assigned development projects including setup, cost coding, commitments, invoices, accruals, and cost tracking.
• Monitor actual costs vs. budgets and forecasts and prepare variance analyses.
• Support month-end close, reporting, and project-level financial information.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
