Job summary

T5 Data Centers is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer to support teaching and executing project planning and development for data center projects. You will analyze specifications, gather data, and help prepare accurate cost estimates and schedules.

The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external subcontractors to ensure bid accuracy and smooth handoffs. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering and 0+ years of construction estimating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• 0+ years commercial construction experience required.
• Experience estimating commercial projects preferred.
• Familiarity with data center projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications and data to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Read drawings and project documents to determine scope and requirements.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements at contributor level.
• Collaborate with stakeholders during estimate creation for accuracy.
• Collect quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Prepare conceptual, lump sum, and GMP estimates and bid packages.
• Assist in subcontractor bid analysis and procurement.
• Review project schedules and assist with General Conditions.
• Assist in final assembly of estimate for owner presentation.
• Ensure clean handoff of bid information to the project team.
• Assist with negotiations, change orders, and contract awards.
• Draft scopes of work with Preconstruction Manager and team.
• Maintain subcontractor/vendor lists in Procore and track unit prices.
