Job summary

JLL is seeking a Development & Permitting Coordinator to support land use entitlements, zoning approvals, and building permits for construction and development projects. You will work under senior team members to navigate regulatory requirements and coordinate with stakeholders to support project approvals.

Your role focuses on permitting processes, attention to detail, and organized project delivery within a culture of excellence and client service.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in development, permitting, land use planning, or related field.
• Basic understanding of land use regulations, zoning codes, and building permit processes.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to track multiple permit applications and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, zoning maps, and basic architectural drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation and submission of permit applications for land use, zoning, building, and environmental approvals.
• Coordinate with government agencies, planning departments, and regulatory bodies through the permitting process.
• Track permit applications, timelines, and compliance requirements.
• Research zoning regulations, building codes, and land use policies under supervision.
• Prepare documentation and reports for permit submissions with review from senior colleagues.
• Support due diligence related to site feasibility and regulatory constraints.
• Coordinate technical consultants including surveyors, engineers, environmental specialists, and land use attorneys.
• Monitor project schedules and alert team to permitting delays or issues.
• Maintain organized records of permit applications, approvals, correspondence, and compliance docs.
• Attend meetings with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
• Assist senior team members in preparing presentations for planning boards and public hearings.
• Develop permitting strategies and timelines for assigned projects.
• Build relationships with local officials and regulatory contacts.
