Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Data Center Technician for customer-facing work in Plano, TX, focusing on optical transport infrastructure in data centers and co-locations. You will lead, install, troubleshoot, and optimize fiber optic networks while supporting migration and remediation activities.

The role requires hands-on experience with fiber cabling, optical testing, and strong communication skills in English. Occasional travel up to 50% will be needed to support client sites and ensure high-quality

Qualifications

• 3-15 years of experience in data center operations or similar technical environments with customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode/multi-mode, LC, fan-outs, structured cabling).
• Excellent English communications and documentation skills using MS Office or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of client work at data centers and provide immediate feedback to technicians.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migrations in data center optical/transport environments.
• Perform optical testing and troubleshooting with tools like OTDRs, power meters, VFLs and light sources.
• Interpret MoPs, engineering docs, vendor docs, and network diagrams to ensure correct port connections and cable management.
