Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Operations Service Team Technician, DCEO Engr 4 for the Culpeper VA area to perform hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance in AWS data centers, covering generators, switchgear, UPS, CRAC, and fire/life safety systems.

This role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Typical 40-hour day schedule with on-call rotations and strict safety procedures to protect assets and personnel.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in relevant work.
• Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
• Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
• Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain.
• Can work at heights and from ladders.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks to HVAC equipment.
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility equipment within internal SLAs.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
• Write procedures.
• Work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday typically during the day.
• Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory.
• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the region’s sites.
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Manipulate small wires and objects.
