Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Herndon, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to perform hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance in mission-critical facilities, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems. You will monitor equipment, troubleshoot incidents, and support change management processes.

This frontline role requires travel between sites, flexible shifts up to 12 hours, and collaboration with vendors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS for issues and trends.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repair of electrical/mechanical equipment.
