Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks OST Technicians to maintain, operate, troubleshoot and repair data center facilities including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, batteries, CRAC and pumps.

Position requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; on‑call rotations apply. You’ll join AWS Infrastructure Services to support safe, cost‑effective data center operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in relevant work.
• Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
• Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
• Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain.
• Can work at heights and from ladders.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks to HVAC equipment.
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility equipment within internal SLAs.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
• Write procedures.
• Work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday typically during the day.
• Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory.
• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the region’s sites.
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Manipulate small wires and objects.
