Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Data Center Operations Lead to manage partner-site data halls with a remote-friendly stance and travel to San Francisco. You will own site outcomes, drive deployment milestones, and oversee vendor teams to ensure availability and reliability of Anthropic's compute fleet.

You will define procedures, govern fleet-wide playbooks, monitor SLAs, and lead weekly reviews to optimize operations and incident response across sites.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data center operations as a manager, technical lead, or related role with accountability for production availability.
• Experience managing vendors, MSPs, or contract workforces with SOWs, SLAs, and operational reviews.
• Hands-on depth in server, network, and rack-level infrastructure to independently verify vendor claims and audit quality.
• Built or substantially improved operational processes, not just run them.
• Experience in incident command or lead-responder roles and clear communication under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own site availability, deployment milestones, and repair turnaround; verify with independent data.
• Set daily and weekly priorities; lead the operating cadence with vendor leads.
• Define deployment, break-fix, change management, security, and EHS procedures; standardize lessons fleet-wide.
• Track vendor performance against SLAs and staffing commitments; drive corrective actions.
• Participate in incident on-call rotation; act as Incident Commander for site-specific incidents when designated.
• Translate engineering requirements into vendor direction and communicate site constraints to leadership.
• Lead weekly operations reviews and scorecards with vendor site leads.
• Direct deployment surges to meet first-compute-online milestones.
• Analyze failure patterns and drive fixes with owners.
• Establish operational readiness for new data halls, including spares and security.
