Job summary

Salute is seeking an Assistant Critical Facilities Manager to oversee critical facilities operations at a Barstow, TX data center. This on-site role leads technicians, coordinates maintenance, and ensures uptime and safety in a hyperscale environment.

The candidate will develop procedures, manage vendor activities, and participate in incident response, with relocation support and a comprehensive benefits package. Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge and hands-on leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data centers.
• 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure including UPS, generators, ATS/STS, switchgear, HVAC, and BMS/EPMS.
• Experience creating and improving operational procedures with SMEs.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in data center environments.
• Degree preferred: Bachelor’s or Associate’s in related field.
• Military, trade, commissioning background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily data hall operations and maintain uptime.
• Lead maintenance for MEP systems (UPS, generators, HVAC, switchgear).
• Develop and enforce SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs in collaboration with SMEs.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate shifts and training.
• Act as Incident Manager during events and responses.
• Coordinate site projects with vendors and contractors; ensure safety and compliance.
