Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to join the Data Center Engineering Operations team. You will monitor and maintain critical electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems in Amazon's data centers, ensuring reliability and rapid response to incidents.

Based in the United States, Ohio/Plain City area, the role involves rotating shifts, on-site presence, and collaboration with facility managers and contractors to keep the cloud running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of practical experience in electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, or fire suppression.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a data-center environment.
• Comfort with 8+ hour shifts and on-call rotations where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and life-safety equipment.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA and assist in repairs.
• Perform rack installs/decommissioning within SLA.
• Perform PM and root-cause analysis, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical writing to support change management.
• Coordinate with on-site contractors and vendors to ensure work meets standards.
