Job summary

IDR, Inc. in Secaucus, NJ seeks a Manager, Data Center Operations to lead day-to-day operations of a critical facility supporting high-availability data center environments.

You’ll manage a process-driven team, coordinate vendors and contractors, and ensure the mechanical and electrical infrastructure remains reliable, safe, and compliant. Lead swing-shift onsite operations, mentor staff, oversee contracts, and drive projects end-to-end, including budgeting and scheduling, with after-hours

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical operations within critical facilities (data center, hospital, power plant preferred).
• Hands-on expertise with critical infra such as chilled water systems, cooling equipment, HVAC/CRAC/CRAH, BMS/PLC controls, generators, UPS, and fire suppression.
• 3-5 years of people management in a process-driven environment.
• 3-5 years of vendor/service contract management and project management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and proficiency with Microsoft Office; coordinating contractors and solving problems in real time.

Responsibilities

• Lead swing-shift onsite operations to maintain uptime across critical facility infrastructure.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Oversee vendor performance and service contracts, ensuring safety, schedule, and specs are met.
• Drive projects from scope through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
• Promote rigorous processes, documentation, and continuous improvement across maintenance programs.
