Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Technical Manager to lead a team responsible for mechanical operations, maintenance, energy management, and workforce development for a facilities portfolio. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with contractors, tenants, and clients.

The role requires expertise in building systems, liquid cooling, and water chemistry, with strong leadership and communicational skills to deliver safe, efficient operations in a dynamic real estate environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance.
• Ability to convey performance expectations and handle problems.
• Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills with an inquisitive mind.
• Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and water chemistry as applied to data center liquid cooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal supervision to employees; monitor training and development; conduct evaluations.
• Coordinate and manage daily team activities; set schedules and deadlines; cross-train staff.
• Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities; assist in operating and capital budgets.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs; maintain maintenance and safety manuals.
• Coordinate maintenance with contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians.
• Oversee building systems: fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, electrical; stay current with technology trends.
• Communicate with tenants, clients, owners, facility team, and vendors.
• Facilitate acquisition of new management contracts and maintain as-built drawings.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns; model CBRE RISE values.
• Apply expertise to integrate disciplines and achieve objectives.
• Develop programs for liquid cooling components and associated piping, pumps, and controls.
• Develop water chemistry parameters for technical water systems; coordinate sampling and chemical dosing.
