Job summary

Backblaze is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to lead day-to-day infrastructure, personnel, and vendor relationships across data center sites. You will partner with engineering, security, finance, and operations to maintain peak reliability while ensuring security and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities include defining project scopes, managing hardware refreshes, and enforcing governance with 24/7 readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
10+ years in data center operations, IT, or infrastructure management.
5+ years in a supervisory or management role overseeing technical teams.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day data center operations across sites or regions.
Direct teams of data center technicians and inventory staff.
Manage vendor relationships and projects, including hardware refreshes.
Maintain business continuity plans, risk assessments, and security alignment.
Monitor uptime, capacity, and environmental controls with DCIM/monitoring tools.
Oversee compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NIST.
Ensure asset management, lifecycle planning, and SLA governance.
