Job summary

Backblaze is hiring a Data Center Operations Manager to lead infrastructure, people, and vendor relationships across data centers. You’ll align engineering, security, finance, and operations to maintain uptime, security, and cost efficiency.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage incidents, and ensure adherence to SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NIST. A strong operational background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in data center operations, IT, or infrastructure management.
• 5+ years in supervisory role overseeing technical teams.
• Proven track record managing projects and vendor relationships in mission-critical environments.
• Certifications such as PMP, ITIL 4 Foundation or higher, or CompTIA Server+/Network+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day data center operations across one or more sites or regions.
• Oversee infrastructure, personnel, and vendor relationships; ensure uptime and security.
• Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Maintain BCP/DRP, perform risk assessments, and enforce incident response protocols.
• Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NIST.
