Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Data Center Facility Manager in the United States to lead operations for critical infrastructure, ensuring uptime, safety, and cost efficiency across data centers.

You will evolve from hands-on troubleshooting to strategic leadership, coordinating with cross-functional teams to govern colocation partners and optimize CapEx/OpEx while maintaining compliance and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in critical infrastructure operations (data centers, fabs, or power plants).
• Deep understanding of data center tiering standards (TIA-942 Rated 3/4, Uptime Tier III/IV) and power/cooling redundancies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data center facility operation engineers and technicians; foster accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Manage shift planning, resource allocation, and succession planning to ensure 24/7 technical coverage.
• Accountable for site uptime and adherence to SLAs; escalate major incidents.
• Govern maintenance programs of colocation partners to ensure quality preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Oversee RCA and CAPA for critical infrastructure failures; institutionalize lessons globally.
• Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and audits with partners/vendors.
