Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Lead Operating Engineer to oversee the efficient operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at an assigned location.

This role sits within the Engineering and Technical Services function and focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and support for equipment and systems. The position emphasizes leadership of maintenance teams, adherence to CBRE RISE values, and coordination with external contractors to ensure reliable service

Responsibilities

• Assign and monitor maintenance activities and projects to team members.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks. This includes changing filters, lubricating motors, replacing lamps, etc.
• Continuously recommend improvements to the preventive maintenance program.
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures. Act as point of contact for outside contractors and technicians.
• Maintain stock and inventory control.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.
