Job summary

Digital Realty Trust, L.P. is seeking a Site Engineer I to join our data center operations team at a Houston property. You will contribute to daily site operations, maintain mission critical infrastructure and support change management, incident reporting, and site procedures.

You should have 1+ year in mission critical facilities, hands-on electrical or mechanical skills, and familiarity with CMMS/DCIM. The role requires problem solving, rounds and inspections, and coordination to ensure uptime

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in mission critical facilities operations/engineering.
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical skills with non-expert area competence.
• Knowledge of UPS systems and architectures.
• Knowledge of cooling systems and architectures.
• Understanding of redundancy configurations (N+1, 2N, ATS/STS).
• Knowledge of energy efficiency principles.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; climb ladders; work under raised data center floor.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of facility layout and operation of MEP systems; illustrate site one-lines.
• Create and modify site operating procedures (SOPs) and change management tickets.
• Create, edit, and close incident reports and CMMS change orders.
• Perform site rounds, inspections, and detect anomalies.
• Troubleshoot site mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support construction supervision and execution of site activities.
• Develop or improve SOPs and understand customer SLA obligations.
• Assist in accreditation efforts (SSA E16, SOC2, ISO 27001) as required.
