Job summary

AMroute LLC is seeking an onsite Field Service Engineer to support hardware repair and server-level activities in Memphis, TN. The role involves hands-on component replacement, OS installation, GPU configuration, and testing to ensure operational readiness.

Responsibilities include coordinating with dispatched engineers, managing parts, updating runbooks, and communicating with customers. Travel isn't indicated beyond onsite in Memphis, with potential after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable working on hardware repair and support.
• Hands-on experience inside servers and component replacement.
• Prior Dell FSE experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Escort and coordinate with dispatched field engineers.
• Manage parts shipping, receiving, and inventory.
• Maintain environment documentation with serials and runbooks.
• Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, and facility maintenance.
• Execute customer-directed system and version updates.
• Proactively monitor servers and notify customers of issues.
• Open and manage service requests; triage with Dell support.
• Troubleshoot, collect logs, and follow vendor resolutions.
• Support firmware upgrades and hardware deployment.
• Perform OS installation, GPU configuration, and testing.
• Conduct system testing/validation for readiness.
• Handle urgent issues as flexible escalation point.

Job description

Resource needs to be comfortable on the HW repair side. As some of the role may be providing OSE/FSE support, they need to be experienced having their hands inside the server, replacing parts. They need to have enough experience, where they are confident in their skills to support and add new skills as needed. Prior Dell FSE experience a plus.

New Scope:

• Escort and coordinate with dispatched field engineers
• Manage parts shipping, receiving, and inventory
• Maintain and update environment documentation (serial numbers, elevations, runbooks, etc.)
• Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, and facility maintenance activities
• Execute customer-directed system and version updates
• Proactively monitor servers and notify customers of issues
• Open and manage service requests; triage and coordinate break/fix activities with Dell support
• Perform troubleshooting, log collection, and follow vendor-recommended resolutions
• Support firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activitiesHandle parts replacement and hardware deployment
• Perform OS installation, GPU configuration, and any testing
• Conduct system testing and validation to ensure operational readiness
• Handle random or urgent issues as they arise, serving as flexible escalation and coordination point.

• 100% ONSITE in Memphis, TN (No remote options)
• Resident must be flexible in working during the weekends and holidays when customer requires.
