Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) in Reno, NV seeks a Critical Environments Operating Engineer to maintain mission-critical data center infrastructure. You will operate and monitor UPS, generators, cooling, and electrical equipment to ensure 100% uptime for clients.

This hands-on role requires physical fitness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work a 6am–4pm shift Sunday through Wednesday. You’ll join a team dedicated to safety, reliability, and cutting-edge facility operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands‑on data center or critical facility experience.
• Experience with mission‑critical building systems: UPS, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
• Strong verbal and written communication; document activities clearly.
• Proficient with MS Office, Google Suite, and CMMS.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
• Willingness to work varied schedules including holidays and respond to emergencies.
• Ability to navigate rooftops and large campus-like settings.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical building systems to ensure 100% uptime.
• Monitor refrigeration, boilers, pumps, and electrical systems for performance.
• Record readings, analyze operations, and take corrective action.
• Manage work orders in CMMS and coordinate with vendors.
• Learn data center infrastructure to manage incidents.
• Follow emergency procedures and respond to site emergencies.
• Maintain safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
