Job summary

CompucomStaffing in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Level 2 Network Technician to provide first-level Smart Hands support and assist remote teams. The role involves rack and stack of network/server gear, cabling, and visibility into asset management and service ticketing.

The candidate should have 2+ years in networking hardware, be comfortable in datacenter environments, and demonstrate strong communication skills. W2, onsite work; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Higher education or degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in racking, stacking, connecting, and providing basic configuration support of networking or server devices.
• Ability to withstand working in a hot enclosed environment (data center hot isle).
• Must be able to perform work on ladders for top-of-rack installations.
• Able to work independently and in teams of 3-4 with flexibility.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs and travel between buildings using personal car/foot.
• Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows 10.

Responsibilities

• Maintain network environment for Smart Hands support and incident handling.
• Provide Service Request support with remote teams to install hardware and patch cables.
• Assist in outages with remote Level 2/3 teams, replace cabling or hardware components.
• Install and configure network/server racks, manage cables, and test connectivity.
• Receive hardware shipments and validate purchase orders and assets in ServiceNow.
• Update asset records and perform proper e-waste handling and disposal.
• Move equipment between docks, storage, and data center racks; provide escort services as needed.
• Work from ServiceNow tickets and coordinate with vendors/techs.
