Job summary

Google is seeking a Network Implementation Engineer in Reston, VA to lead deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, and field vendors to position the team for success and deliver reliable, scalable connectivity for Google’s global users.

Ideal candidates have a strong foundation in network engineering, experience with DWDM/TCP/IP, and the ability to mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in network/telecom engineering or related field.
• 3 years of experience in DWDM, TCP/IP, or system design operations methodologies.
• Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in telecom environments (installation, commissioning, troubleshooting).

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Google's data center network delivery at scale.
• Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
• Develop approaches and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize costs.
• Monitor network health, diagnose issues, and escalate when needed.
• Own network documentation and maintain designs and plans.
