Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Data Center Network Engineer to support daily operations of high-performance networking in AI labs and data center environments. This role focuses on rack-level deployment, cabling, switch configuration, and connectivity validation for GPU clusters and storage systems.

Responsibilities include configuring switches, validating fiber connectivity, and supporting spine-leaf deployments, with an emphasis on 100GbE+ networks and MLAG/port-channel configurations.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting network infrastructure in data centers or AI labs.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 concepts.
  • Experience with enterprise/data center switches such as Cisco/Arista; MLAG concepts preferred.
  • Experience with 100GbE+ interfaces, QSFP/OSFP optics, DAC/AOC cables, and GPU networking requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain rack-level network infrastructure in data centers and AI labs.
  • Configure and validate switch ports, VLANs, LACP, and port channels.
  • Support spine-leaf deployment and high-density compute networking.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1–Layer 3 connectivity issues and perform RCA as needed.
  • Lead 24/7 NOC operations and assist with incident response and runbook optimization.
