Job summary
Supermicro is seeking a Data Center Network Engineer to support high‑performance networking in our AI labs and data centers in San Jose. You will deploy rack‑level networking, cabling, and switch configuration for GPU clusters and storage systems.
The role focuses on spine‑leaf architectures, MLAG, 100GbE+ networks, validation, testing, and documentation. Strong Linux skills and problem‑solving mindset are essential for 24/7 NOC operations. Experience with PHYs, optics, and fiber is a plus.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Networking, IT, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on network infrastructure experience in data centers or AI labs.
- Strong TCP/IP, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 concepts.
- Experience with 100GbE+ and high-speed optics and NICs.
- Familiarity with spine-leaf architectures and MLAG concepts.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage rack-level network gear in AI labs and data centers.
- Configure switches (ports, VLANs, LACP) per standards.
- Validate fiber, DAC/AOC, transceivers and high-speed interconnects.
- Troubleshoot Layer 1–3 connectivity and perform RCA when needed.
- Monitor topology, maintain docs and assist commissioning activities.
- Lead 24/7 NOC operations and incident response.
