Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Data Center Network Engineer to support daily operations of high‑performance networking in AI labs and data centers. You will work on rack‑level deployment, cabling, switch configuration, and connectivity for GPU clusters and storage systems.

The role requires hands‑on experience with 100GbE+ networks, fiber optics, and spine‑leaf topologies, plus strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting network infrastructure in data centers or AI labs.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, VLANs, and Layer 2-3 concepts.
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, or equivalent switches; MLAG concepts preferred.
• Experience with 100GbE+ network infrastructure, QSFP/OSFP optics, and GPU server networking.

Responsibilities

• Data Center Network Deployment: rack, stack, cable, label, and commission high‑speed switches (10/25/40/100/200/400GbE).
• Fiber & high‑speed connectivity: install and validate fiber, transceivers, DACs/AOCs, and cabling.
• Switch configuration: configure ports, VLANs, link aggregation, and MLAG under standards.
• Spine‑leaf deployment: support deployment and troubleshooting of spine‑leaf fabrics for AI/GPU compute.
• GPU/server connectivity: validate network connectivity for GPU servers and NICs; perform link validation.
• Network troubleshooting: diagnose Layer 1–3 issues; isolate faults; escalate to senior engineers.
• Performance validation: run ping, iperf, and telemetry checks to verify links.
• Topology & documentation: maintain rack layouts, port mappings, and topology diagrams.
• Commissioning & deployment: support rack burn‑in and deployment activities with cross‑team coordination.
• Incident response & RCA: document corrective actions and recurring failure modes.
• Lead 24/7 NOC operations: drive incident escalations and optimize monitoring/runbooks.
