Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Data Center Network Engineer to support high-performance networking in AI labs and data centers. You will deploy rack-level infrastructure, cabling, switch configuration, and verify GPU cluster connectivity.

The role requires 5+ years in data-center networking, experience with 100GbE, fiber, and MLAG concepts, and the ability to troubleshoot Layer 1–3 issues. On-site role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer networking or related field is preferred.
• 5+ years supporting data center/network infrastructure in AI labs or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong TCP/IP, VLANs, Layer 2/3 concepts and basic routing.
• Experience with 100GbE, QSFP/OSFP optics, DAC/AOC cables, fiber.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support high-speed Ethernet, rack wiring and switch commissioning.
• Install and validate fiber, DAC/AOC cables, transceivers, and optics.
• Configure switch ports, VLANs, link aggregation and MLAG basics.
• Support spine-leaf deployments for AI/gpu compute environments.
• Validate GPU server connectivity and interface status.
• Troubleshoot Layer 1–3 connectivity and escalate as needed.
• Run basic performance tests and monitor link health.
• Keep rack layouts, topology, and device inventory documented.
• Assist with network commissioning, burn-in, and deployment activities.
• Respond to incidents and contribute to root-cause analyses.
• Lead 24/7 NOC triage and improve monitoring/runbooks.
