Job summary

Hunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group, seeks an Industrial Mechanical Operations Technician to support mission-critical cooling and mechanical systems at the IREN data center campus in Childress, TX. You will conduct rounds, monitor conditions, and maintain detailed logs to ensure reliable operation.

Ideal candidates have strong mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and are willing to learn complex systems; prior data center experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• Experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with pumps, motors, compressors, fans, VFDs, and related equipment.
• Ability to read equipment data, diagrams, and P&IDs; trace process flow is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine equipment rounds and monitor operating conditions for chillers, pumps, dry coolers, rooftop units, AHUs, motors, fans, and VFDs.
• Complete detailed logs, review readings, and communicate abnormalities or trends.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and basic repairs within qualifications.
• Assist with startup/shutdown, commissioning, and response to equipment issues.
• Coordinate with site leadership, engineering, controls, vendors, and other technicians to maintain reliability.
• Follow safety, lockout/tagout, and site requirements; maintain maintenance records.
• Support 24/7 operation with a 12-hour shift; include days, nights, weekends, holidays.
