Job summary

TeamLINX is seeking a Low Voltage Technician for data center construction in the Dallas, TX area. You will install, terminate, and test structured cabling on commercial projects, earning $22.00 to $29.00 per hour depending on tier and experience.

Work varies across corporate offices, hospitals, campuses, data centers, and other environments. The role offers a defined path from Technician I through Technician III, with required safety, tools, and certifications pursued on the job.

Qualifications

  • Experience installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling to CAT5e/6/6a and fiber.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use power tools.
  • Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift with overtime.
  • Pass background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cable
  • Pull, suspend, fireproof, terminate, and test cable runs to BICSI standards, NEC, and local code
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware
  • Troubleshoot low voltage cable systems as issues come up on site
  • Document every installation for compliance with industry standards and project specifications
  • Deliver organized, professional workmanship that meets spec on every run
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with site contacts to resolve technical issues
