Job summary

LINX is hiring Low Voltage Technicians in the Dallas, TX area to install, terminate, and test structured cabling on commercial construction projects, paying $22.00 to $29.00 an hour depending on tier and experience. This role offers a clear path from Technician I through Technician III and beyond.

You will work on varied sites, from offices to hospitals and data centers. Candidates must own tools, be able to lift 50 pounds, pass background checks, and communicate professionally in English.

Qualifications

  • Able to work on ladders and use power tools; able to lift and move a 50 lb box.
  • Own a complete set of personal low voltage hand tools.
  • Available to work 2nd or 3rd shift, overtime, and under deadline pressure.
  • Must pass a 7 year criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
  • Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cable.
  • Pull, suspend, fireproof, terminate, and test cable runs to BICSI standards, NEC, and local code.
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware.
  • Troubleshoot low voltage cable systems as issues come up on site.
  • Document every installation for compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Deliver organized, professional workmanship that meets spec on every run.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with site contacts to resolve technical issues.
